My understanding was that it was supposed to help in the daytime as well but helped most at night.

I was searching for more info and was having some difficulty.
http://www.google.com/search?q=atarax+&btnG=Google+Search&domains=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ic-network.com&sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ic-network.com

Here is a link to the links I got after google searching this site.
Maybe something can help you.

It definately helps me during the day also. Hydroxyzine is the mainstay of my IC treatment. I just keep getting better and better. I have been on it for 2 years now and I just spent a week with company running all over everywhere. My husband and I were talking yesterday that we did not make any potty stops because I could not wait until we got to our next stop. I hope it helps you also.:)

Hi there! It definitely helps both for nighttime and daytime for me. It helps me to sleep through the night. If I accidentally miss a dose, I definitely feel the effects the following evening.

Hope it works for you too!
