Hello Everyone, I went to my first appointment with my new urologist today. It went great, I finally found a good doc. He started me on elmiron and gave me my first (as you guys call it a "cocktail). He started me off with 3 instillations of lidocane, heprine, and bicabonate mixture. It was a little uncomfortable and it really did not help much I was back in pain again about 2 hours later. i was wondering if it takes more than 1 of these treatment to notice any difference. Next week he is going to start the DMSO treatments. Are these treatments painful? I hope all of this works.Well just wanted let everyone know how it went going to try and go to bed. Take care

I'm glad you found a doctor you like. That can be so very important.

DMSO is painful for some, and not for others --- it's another one of those instances where we are all different.

Sending gentle hugs,
Donna

I'm glad you found a good doc. The instillations can cause a flare up of pain/symptoms for some people. I did 6 RIMSO (DMSO cocktail) in Jan/Feb and it was uncomforatable, however, about a month later I had a good settling out of the urgency/frequency problems which has still held. I think it is worth it to do, and see if it makes a difference.

I'm so happy you found a good doc! That's already a step ahead of me. I would ask your doc about the DMSO. I had a bad experience with them but that doesn't mean you will. Everyone is different. I hope they help you. Ask your doc if he'll give ytou something for the pain after your first treatment (just in case). Then if it hurts you have something to help if it doesn't hurt than great! Take care - Chris
