I am not sure if my pain managment doctor is right on or just plan crazy.
Befor I went to her I was on:
Ultram (tramadol) 50mg x4 for pain
Valium for PFD and Spasms 2mg x3
Hydroxyzine 25mg in AM and 50mg in PM
Paxil 10mg (I have no idea why)
initially Rantidine (Zantac) 300mg at night but uro said he could not perscribe it anymore

My pain md seemed very nice but made some very painful changes:
She took me off the Hydroxyzine and the buring in the urethra retirned with such severity that I started taking them again anyway.
She prescribed oxybutynin (ditropan) and that had cause dehydration, and retention plus i cannot cool down i am sooo hot all over. (The nurse told me to stop taking thismed to day the md is on vacation)
She took away the valium completly but like a fool I tried to have sex anyway and right now I can never imagine ever doing that again-sex drive gone forever tooooooo much pain. (Poor husbad)
She did give me a lidoderm patch 2x a day for pain, it works on th ebladder but not on the back -will not stay stuck on my back but does great on the bladder)
Still on Tramadol, because it reduces pain and keeps the migranes away.

Anyone else been through this, worse, way worse with the PM md maybe it will get better, but she ison vacation so i can not call and get any help

Just a rant mu urologist who has had the paper work sent 3 times still has not got my recorsd sent over, i called to day and they said they did not have the address! This is riduculouse, he is sopposed to be a good urologist but at this point I am begining to doubt that he cares at all.

Can't say that I have been through that but does sound like PM md didn't do what was best for you....sounds like learning some more on IC would do her some good. I am so so sorry you went through that.

When is she due back from vacation? I think I would discuss the concerns with her before making a change. Sometimes we have to really press to find out what the planned treatment involves.

When is your next appointment?

Hugs,
Donna

I am to call Monday and I have an appointment Wednesday. hopefully she will have my complete file then and my urologost is supposed to return to the office Monday but I am sure he will have a long list of calls and I am no doubt at the bottom.
