Kidney infections

Hi!
This is my very first post. I am about to be 30 years old and have had IC since I was 16. I get kidney infections very often and was wondering if anyone else does the same?

I have had kidney stones and kidney infections over the last 2 years. As soon as my kidney starts acting up I get to the doctor as soon as possible. Best wishes,

I've had diagnosed IC for 29 years now and have never had a kidney infection. I do get bladder infections occasionally, but haven't had one for a couple of years now.

I have had one kidney infection. That was before diagnosis of IC. I used to have a lot of UTI's before that too. But since I have been diagnosed I haven't had any. Hmmmm. Makes me wonder if it was flares that I had.

I had a bad kidney infection my first year in college (I was 19)... I hadn't been diagnosed with IC (didn't get diagnosed until 3/4/04 when I was almost 30).

Other than that, I have not had many UTIs at all.

But, just wanted to welcome you to the IC Network :welcome:

i also get kidney infection which they call mine Pyelonephritis this is when i get a bladder infection and dont take care of it the way i should or i get a full blown infection that hits hard and fast! most of the time i end up in the hosp having to have iv treatments to cure my kidney infection.
I know we are all diff. but please remember kidney infection can be very dangerous if you get a kidney infection with fever and chills abdominal or back pain nausea and vomiting pain when urination foul or cloudy urine get to your uro asap or to the E.R for treatments kidney infection are nothing to play around with.
