hydroxyzine and retention

I have read that one side effect of this can be retention of urine...does anyone have this problem?
Also, has anyone tried a very low dose - 10mgs - and found it useful?

Hi Glynis,

I already have retention problems prior to using Hydroxyzine but it does help with the constant burning pain. I need a much stronger dose of 50mg every 6 hours.

Hi...I can only speak for myself. I do not have retention with atarax and it has been a lifesaver for me. I did have retention from Pyridium Plus, go figure.....yet so many are helped by that.

If the doctor prescribed it, try it. I take 50-75mg each night and don't take it during the day. Like so many other things about IC treatments it is very individial.
