Hi Guys

Well after months and months of recurring infecs!! I am beginning to wonder IF my Gp has been a bit to quick to prescripe A/Bs and i did a bit of research of my own this week!!

Firstly noticed a pattern of infec sypmtoms AFTER a number 2 ( sorry) i felt the same iffy. poorly sensations burning stabbing intermittantly and general low grade temp. thought Oh *** will have to upgrade to full A/Bs ( at present on low dose each night) anyway i remebered somepone saying that it could have been inflammation!! so i took a 400 Ibrurofen, and within an hour all the crap went away!! and i dont feel that it was an infection, Does anyone have any idea that maybe it was an inflammation flare and the brufen cleared it?? or am i just wishful thinking Ha!!

The only way to be certain whether you have an infection is to have a culture done. For me an IC flare feels so much like infection that I have to be tested to be sure.

WOW!

sounds like you hit the nail right on the head to me!! My doctor is the same way, just dishes out antibiotics and they NEVER help! Good for you to try the ibuprofen! I'm going to try that next time too, because I feel like I'm swollen more than having a true infection. ( WHICH, btw, I never really do have one ) My urine shows some weird stuff, but the cultures never grow anything, so my doc always gives me antibiotics anyway, and they ALWAYS make me WORSE! SO now I just don't take any if my culture doesn't grow any specific bacteria they can pinpoint...what's the point of that?

Anyway, glad you took that ibuprofen! It worked, so you must have figured it out, it obviously was swollen, or the ibuprofen wouldn't have worked so well! Good thinking!! Try it next time too and see if it helps, if it does, then you know how to get rid of it!

I would also mention this to your doctor, so he knows that you figured this out, and maybe next time he can be more thorough before flipping you antibiotics ( like they all do! )

Take care and thanks for letting us know, I'm trying that next time!!
