saddy there is NO CURE for IC at this time, but there is many treatments out there that can help people go into remission I'm not in remission because of True UTI, but my systom are alot better. a little over a year ago i had over 90 pin point bleeding spots on my bladder and three hunners but now i have no pin point bleeding on my bladder and my doctor removed my hunners.
I normally do much better until a uti hits even tho i don't have pin point bleeding my bladder is paper thin at this time if i'm not careful the pin point bleeding will come back the doctor already said my hunners will come back due to the fact that my blood vessels is feeding them.....Just my luck:(
I want to give you hope and let you know there is light at the end of the tunnel there is treatments out there that helps many people go on and live normal and happy lifes.
i know these post can scare you at times they did me too but the reason for that is you dont see many people who post everyday that is doing better and living normal lifes.
don't give up hope.
I didn't and i'm doing better.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda.
p.s
I know some of these women out here that don't post much that can eat almost anything they want do anything they want and work normal 40 plus hours a week if they can do it we can too.

I can let you all know after the 28th if I test positive for IC. Even though my symptoms are mild compared to others, I keep reading, in case I get worse. This way I will know what to expect as far as medications or other treatments.
It is true that we are not going to hear from too many others who have mild cases of IC and don't need support. I imagine before I started posting here that people have come and then left because there IC is in control.

I know I did - when I was having my four month remission I naively thought my IC symptoms were gone forever and I didn't want to even think about IC I was so tired of it so I didn't come here.

I guess that is a good thing. I keep that in my mind, most people with IC are out living the best they can do..That is what I should do too, ..I am learning.

Marlana,
My first two urologists in Seattle (both male and full of themselves!) told me I didn't have I.C. and dismissed it. But, I was diagnosed by a wonderful female urologist last year based on my symptoms and the fact that I improved dramatically with antihistamines. That said, I've found the things that work best for me (xanax when needed, antihistamines when needed, and prelief if I'm eating anything really acidic) I'm basically in "R". I don't actually say the word for fear I'll jinx myself! I feel really good most of the time and if I feel a flare coming on, I can usually stop it in it's tracks within a couple of hours. Hope this helps.

My uro has me on 1/4 cup Aloe Vera GEL, everyday, and it really seems to be helping! I am in remission!
Rest assured that in the last almost 4 years I have been here there have been lots of people who started out in great discomfort and then ended up feeling better after treatment. They do tend to disappear --- so then people forget there were people here who were miserable and then got BETTER!!! :) There really are! :)

Mt uro said that my bladder did not show any signs of what looks like ic. I also didn't respond to the fluids he inserted like most of his ic patients do. I think I rated my pain for the potassium as a 2 while he said most rate it on a scale of 1 - 6 as a 12. But, my burning and urgency continue so we now assume that it is ic. I have some questions for "Imustpee" (what a name, girl he he) What type of aloe vera gel do you take, where do you get it and how do you ingest it?

Rain...I get "Real Aloe Vera" gel at the health food store..Uro says it has to be the GEL...it comes in a large 64 oz bottle..I keep it in the frig.. I "drink" it right out of the bottle...tastes pretty good,,like half gelled citrus flavored jello. I "Drink" a mouthful 3 - 4 times a day.
