This may not be a big deal to some of you, but it is a huge deal to me. I found a little grocery store!!! I'm soo excited about it! You see, going to the grocery store has become a major struggle for me. Walking sends my bladder into major spaz time & going to the store requires some serious walking. All we have where I live are these mega/super/mammoth marts where you walk a mile by the time you are done getting just a few items. Well, the other day, I had to go to this small town that's 5 miles down the road & decided to check out their grocery store while I was there. I love it! It's small & I don't have to walk forever & a day to get what I need. Oh! And this is a bonus - if you go Monday - Thursday before noon, you get 5% off of your total! It's a little extra effort to drive 5 miles instead of a few blocks, but it is well worth it for me. :woohoo:

I wouldn't even mind walking around the big stores, but they keep moving things --- I think the reasoning is that the more you have to search, the more impulse shopping you will do --- I gotta tell you, that doesn't work for me. I have been known to snag a clerk for assistance in finding something, then keeping that clerk until I get my entire list!

I hate how the stores just keep getting bigger and bigger. I miss the small grocery stores that used to be in my town but were forced out when the megastores moved in. It's bad enough trying to get through the grocery store with my IC, but I recently had back surgery and there was no way I could get to the far end of the store. Fortunately, my husband did most of the shopping, but if for some reason I needed to pick up something, I'd pay a fortune and grab it at a convenience store. Bigger isn't always better!
I completely understand! I can't stand walking through the big Walmarts! There are two small towns close by, I will go to theirs so that I don't have to walk through the huge one!

Wonderful,
I am lucky, I can send my girls as they all drive and they wil do the shopping any time I need them too. I miss shopping sometimes, so I still go with my dh once in a while.
I think shopping is one of the hardest things to do, usually there is tons of walking, including in from the parking lot, and then pushing the cart as it gets heavy and moving everything into the house and putting it away, it ends up being quite a heavy chore.
Glad to hear you found a solution, great work!!

I was just thinking about when I was in high school & I worked at the grocery store in our small town where I grew up. The sackers (always males) would even carry the groceries out to your car for you (no matter how many bags you had) & put them in your car for you. That wasn't all that long ago (12 years). Times have sure changed. I think that it would be great if stores (grocery & walmart-type) delivered like pizza hut.
