Someone made a subreddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Interstitialcystitis/
Why it matters? Reddit is a highly popular site (and amusing to browse through on other subjects). It has many celebrities who post publicly and hold "Ask me anything" threads and it has subreddits for just about everything you can imagine. I would like us to hold "Ask me anything" threads during September for awareness month, especially since the site gets so much traffic, but for now we should help extend the section and try to draw as much interest as we can to raise awareness among the younger generation. I've already posted links to this site, especially doctor lists, the guidelines, and so forth.

Thanks =)
Feel free to post new topics on anything that could be helpful. I met a lot of ICers on there before the subreddit was created through private messages who didn't know about the ICN, so they're out there.

Nekura, could you give me a little primer on Reddit. I don't know what it is or how it is used. I tried to look around and it seemed to be strings of posts similar to ICN but on a broader scale topic-wise. Help us all learn so we can in turn, help spread the word about this site there. THANKS

Oh sorry! Reddit is a strange set-up for a forum. Each forum topic is called a "subreddit" that you can post threads under, the most popular or ones you subscribed to are at the top bar of the page. Here's a screen shot I took of the IC subreddit: http://i.imgur.com/1QZun.png
The subreddits are underlined by the blue line at the top. The red line to the left are the up and down buttons you can hit. If you like something, you hit the up arrow to "upvote" the thread and keep it at the top. That's what those numbers means, how many upvotes a thread has. The black bars to the right are as following from top to bottom: Your account name/profile if clicked on, Your name again, recently viewed threads or images. On the right side of the page you'll see the rules in bold. It says:
Welcome to /r/Interstitialcystitis! Please feel free to submit any links, articles, personal stories or anything else related to interstitial cystitis and living with interstitial cystitis.
The only rule is to please be kind, considerate, and respectful of everyone here. We all walk a long, difficult road, so let's help each other out :)
Please tell your friends, family, or anyone who might be interested in IC related news, advice, or support about this subreddit! The more we grow, the more we can help ourselves and each other.
So all you really need to do is make an account, then click go to this address http://www.reddit.com/r/Interstitialcystitis/, hit subscribe which is just under the first black bar (it will be green to you, not red like on mine and will say "Subscribe"), and if you wish to make a post you can click on "Submit a link" which is just right under the rules on the right hand side. OR you can browse what other people have posted. There is a subreddit for basically every interest if you search for it.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I need to put better instructions.

Right now there are only 12 threads under the subreddit. The bottom one is a link to the ICN. The others are mostly people asking about IC, advice, and the regular stuff. There is no different forum topics under the IC subreddit, it's just all lumped together unlike here.

This forum has actually been designed for all nurses that could share their experiences in the medical field. If you have questions and suggestions you could actually post these at this place.
