I have be chating with a few members here and everyone has the same concerns about meeting for a support group. There just is not enough people willing to meet in our home area. We seem to be spread all over the state.
So, my question to you guys and gals is this:1. Do you want to meet with a support group? 2. Are you willing to travel? And 3. How far are you willing to travel?

What I am thinking is if we can get 6-8 people willing to meet, then we can look at a map and see where everyone is and then pick some place in as close to the middle as possible. This way incase everyone willing to meet is east of Charlotte we won't make everyone travel to Raleigh just because it is in the middle of the state.
So, please reply with your:
Username
City or town you are in
How far you are willing to travel.

Thanks

I'm in Charlotte. Have talked years ago on here about trying to set up a support group, but we are scattered all over the state and we couldn't find a good way to meet. Even getting to a central location, Say Greensboro,Winston Salem or Durham, Albemarle, etc. All of them will still require long drives for most of us to travel at least a couple hours.

Tho it would be fun, and great, and I mean that, I'm not sure how to do it. Skype?

If anyone has some ideas on this I'd love to do it, but can't drive more than about an hour or 90 minutes...as I'm sure most of us would feel the same.

Maybe someone can come up with the answer....we just didn't get there years ago when we were talking about it, but that doesn't mean we can't figure it out now. :)

If everyone is game, we can go ahead and put a plan together. Looking as a map something close to States ville will be about the closest to the middle for everyone. There is me in Canton (just west of Asheville), you in Rock Lake, Sheri Ellen seem to be close to Charlotte, and OllieR just north of Greenville SC.
At this point I think the best thing would be to pick a few city's in the middle of all of us and have everyone MapQuest the distances and then go with the most even for everyone.
All of us know how much it sucks to be stuck in a car for too long and I don't want someone to be in a flare just trying to get to a meeting.
What dose everyone think?

Welcome to NC glittering. I hope Sandy will reply back to you and maybe set IP a meeting to*get some support for such a hard thing to live with. Either way you have friends here and we are glad to have more friends.

I will wait for Sandy to see this & then the 3 of us can plan. And if anyone else wants to travel, feel free to come from other areas, too! :)
