Has anyone here noticed improvements in their bladder and urethra while taking Algonot Plus CystoProtek 5 in One?
Please let me know

I tried it early this spring, but found that I couldn't take it. I started to flare a bit each time I tried. I was thinking about asking for the plain algonot, but I just returned the cystoprotect. I think others have had success. We're all so different.

You might try just taking plain quercitin...that was suggested by my doctor...and he is an expert with IC...I started taking it but it has not been long enough to know if it is working...

Cystoprotek gave me a horrid migraine, but I just found out I'm allergic to fish & shellfish & Cystoprotek is made from shark cartilage. Mystery solved...

Hope you find something that works for you.

Heather, Just finished the 5 in 1 (4th bottle) last month. I have not been legally diagnosed with IC yet. I was scheduled to have a uro-dynamics test this Jan. but put it off just to see if Prelief and Algonot would really help. I wanted to give both plenty of time. The Prelief had no results. I have had a little knee and finger authritis that the 5 in 1 seemed to help but really noticed no improvement in my frequency or urgency. I have been battling this problem for years and just found this website recently. My uro has had me on just about every drug there is with little or no results. Went ahead and scheduled the uro-dynamics test after going to a Neuro. Uro never mentioned this??? As most have stated it (the Algonot series) may work for you. I would give it a shot. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I want to thank everyone who replied to this post!!
I will definetly keep you posted if I notice any results on Algonot,
I will post in another section questions on what has helped some people recover from interstitial cystitis.
If you have any questions, I might be able to answer them too since I've been living with interstitial since I was 19 years old, I am now 25 :(
thanks again for replying to my post

I've been on the cystoprotek fo three months now and after one month I could tell a real difference. My frequency has gone down, my pain level has gone from 9 to 1 onthe pain scale and I am really excited. Hope you get same good results.

Marlena,
If you go to the top of this page you will see an icon for Algonot 3in one on the far right. After you click there, scroll down until you find the 5 in one, Cystoprotek. I've never ordered from this site, I got a sample from my pain Dr. in Houston. Before I had finished the two bottles she gave me, I knew it was working. You can call toll free at 1.800.ALGONOT also.

Hope it works for you!

Algonot 5 in 1 has helped me. Actually, I took 5 in 1 for 4 months then misordered the Algonot 3 in 1, but kept it and took the capsules.

You might want to look at my response under Char's question on this board for more info on my experience. Good luck to all who try it.

Thank you all for replying to my post
I was wondering for those that algonot really helped if you can help me with the following:
it's a question that I'm trying to keep brief and to the point!
I notice improvements now that I have been taking algonot for awhile but then when I eat
an IC No No food -- I still get flares including
from eating White Chocolate (because that's how
sensitive my bladder still is)
so this flare then lasts for 4 days! and during this time when I try IC No NO foods I feel as though I am back to square one during a flare!!!,
my question is,
did you experience this the first months of taking algonot but now do you notice you can eat IC No No foods finally without a flare??
do I have to avoid IC No No foods even after like 9 months on algonot?????

IF there is a no-no food I decide to take a chance on, it is always eaten with Prelief. Also, it's just a little of the food, like 1 piece of tomato sauce-based pizza or 1 small glass of wine or cup of decaf coffee.

Be sure to check the Prelief chart....lots of times a food requires more than 1 or 2 tablets....for a glass of wine, I take 4....2 at the start and 2 half way thru'.

Don't know what happens after 9 months on Algonot...I've only been taking it for 6 months.....but, still, I will be very, very careful not to get my poor bladder flared...it's just not worth it most of the time.

Good luck....keep on truckin' to find what works for you, OK?!?:hi:

I'm going to move on to some other supplements because Cystoprotek didn't help. Either did DMSO or hydro-extension. I think my IC is different somehow. I'm going to try Gotu Kola, which is an herb and a component of some product called Bladder-Q, but I'll try goto kola first.
Everyone should rate IC remedies on this website I found called Remedyfind.com. It's fun to rate things you have tried. :dogrun:

Got a Questionnaire in the mail from Tufts University wanting to know about my reaction to CystoProtek. I took it along with Prelief and Bladder-Q for several months. Have any of you received this?

Hi Aspencad,
No I didn't receive a quetionnaire about cystoprotek. Maybe because I didn't reorder. But what happened? Did you feel better? And if so which product was responsible?

Aspencad,
I did recieve the questionaire and sent it in. I take the Cystoprotek and have had wonderful results. My life is nearly normal. I do still have to watch the no no foods, but I don't mind. I can have small amounts and that's probably all I need anyway. I do still have painful urination but it is so much better than it used to be that I don't even complain. I still have a very small bladder (3 oz.) and that will never change. Anyway, I am so much better that I would be embarrassed to complain. I wish everyone got as much relief with cystoprotek as I have. I've tried all those other things and none helped as much as cystoprotek. I was down to considering having my bladder removed when I found cystoprotek.

Good for you Rowena, I'm glad you got results. No, purple, I did not see any results but I think that is because my condition/symptoms are more PFD related, I hope. I have not been diagnosed with IC, yet. I have been diagnosed with PFD (kind of sort of). I have only been to the PT once and she did tell me my Pelvic Floor was VERY weak. Go see my uro next month for more of the beloved probing/proding. I can hardly wait to have something stuck up my ******* again! Go back to my PT next week.

Aspencad,
I too, have been diagnosed with PFD. I've even had surgery to lift my vaginal vault back into place. I was going through bio-feed back when I found Algonot. The Dr. who was doing the bio-feed back is the one who introduced me to cystoprotek. I hope you get some relief some way.

Can someone tell me, what did you mean about returning CystoProtek. You can't return it after it's been opened, right? Do you mean any unopened bottle?

Rowena

The lady I talked to at Algonot told me that if you take cystoprotek for three months and have no relief of symptoms, if you save your empty bottles and return them, they will refund your money. I don't know about returning opened bottles.

I'm pretty sure Cystoprotek contributed to my improvement, although I was(am) taking a lot of other stuff as well, so not a very scientific test!
Once it was confirmed that my IC was mast-cell-related, I started taking hydroxyzine, and attribute some of the credit to that. Thanks for the reminder about the questionnaire!
