hi everyone.yes,a lot of you said not to go through with it and some of you guys said it is worth a try.my first dsmo treatment went good last week and the pain eased for a couple of hours.it was great.now, after my 2nd dsmo treatment yesterday,i feel like the pain has become too much.
it did not hurt like this yesterday after the treatment and the pain has only come on since this afternoon.i am walking around doubled over and i can feel the pain in my bladder.i am sitting here with my heat pack between my legs which is getting me some funny looks from my kids.
it hurts like hell to pee,not razor blade feeling, and i really don't need this at the moment.i am feeling so down.i know i will have a terrible time of sleeping tonight.i am also dealing with my grandmother in hospital dying at the moment which could mean a plane flight and lots of time spent in traffic.i am upset about her and i am freaking out about trying to do all of that if she passes away.
i just wish i new how long this intense pain will last.it hurt less before the dsmo treatments started.it feels like i have just gone through a cystoscopy.
I HATE MY BLADDER.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Did they give you an antibiotic in your instillation? If this treatment was ok yesterday, your pain came on today, and your pain is occurring during urination, you may have an infection. You don't want to let this go because infection can spread to the kidneys. Please give your doctor a call today.

hi kadi.it does not feel like a bladder infection.it feels like when you have a cystscopy done and your bladder is throbbing and sore as.today it is still very sore but not throbbing.who knows.i will not be able to have my next treatment next week because i have to fly to sydney for a funeral and i don't think i can handle all of that and be in so much pain after the dsmo treatment.they put some drug in with sulpha in it and some anisedic.the name is really, really long and i have forgotten what it is called.i hope i feel better by next week.thanks for taking the time to see how i am.how are you today?:mad:

Hi, I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time. I had a similar experience years ago with DMSO. I felt great for an entire week after the first treatment. The second one, not so great. The third, no fun, and then for an entire month I was in excruciating pain. It did help during that month to take pyridium (the stuff that makes your urine bright orange). Too bad I didn't figure that out until late in that month. Then, I had about 4 good months where my bladder was much better than usual. I have never tried it again.

fairydust hey, sorry you are feeling so bad.

Are they using the smallest cath they have to DMSO you?

I was very sore after every treatment.

Sometimes cathing can cause a UTI or an inflamation of the urethra, you should pee in a cup before your next DEMSO treatment to see if you are still having an infection.

I didnt get any relief until after the 8th treatment.

I did decide to not continue with the DEMSO.

Some people can with-stand the pain. I chose to stick with just the Elmiron. There was a post some where a gal said that you can get some type of discount on the medication Elmiron. You should try to see if you can find there web page and contact them. I can also look and see what I come up with. Often these Rx producing companys will offer a discount just to get more people using their product. It is a good thing if it is true. Ill look and see what I can find.

thanks kadi.everyone has been so supportive and friendly.that is so fantastic.when a person is feeling really down and in constant pain it helps to chat to someone who understands what you are going through.
the pain has eased up a little bit today(saturday) which is good.i am a bit worried about the funeral i have to go to because i will not be able to drink much water for 3 days and that is bad for cranky bladders.i will be in a car a lot in lots of traffic and going to places where there is not a toilet.i am really worried.
how are you today kadi?well i hope.take care.:bunny:

It was me :) Here's the link for the discount, just need to print up the card. You pay the first $5 and the remaining up to $35 is covered for 4 prescriptions. But I hear it can be used constantly.

Best wishes with your DMSO treatments FairyDust. I had a very tough time with them, I will not get another one.
