Lactulose

Has anyone ever been given Lactulose for their IBS? I was given some and have taken it for the past two nights and woken up with terrible IC symptoms. I'm pretty sure now that it's related, but I don't understand why my GI gave it to me when he knew I had IC? Has anyone else tried it?

Yes. My Doctor gave it to me as a way of getting fibre and help with softer stools. After a week I had to stop, I was so bloated and gassy. It was painful with my IBS, but it didnt flare up the IC. Since I have been dealing with the IBS for the last 8 months I have only had 2 IC flare ups.
