Question about Elmiron and Surgery

I am having a total abdominal hysterectomy tomorrow.
Has anyone else taken this and had surgery??

I read in the package insert to make sure you tell the doc if your having surgery....and I completely forgot about till right now
I suppose I can tell the nurse when they call later for the phone thingy before hand.

I've had three Interstim-related surgeries, an appendectomy & tubal ligation without having to go off of Elmiron. My blood was checked beforehand to make sure it was okay.

I was not on Elmiron when I had my abdominal hysterectomy.. but you really should tell them..A good site to visit about hysterectomies is www.hystersisters.com
Set up like the boards here. They were so helpful when I had mine..
I hope all goes well for you... The hyster was the best decision I ever made!! I had a burch sling for the bladder done at the same time. It helped the incontinience I was having but I think it stirred up things and it was a year later I was dignosed with IC.
Make sure you do everything the nurses tell you.. You are going to needs lots of rest..Don't be in a hurry to go up and down stairs or drive!! Just let every one pamper you for as long as you can..

I was told to not take it before surgery....I complained of its importance and they let me.....but I still missed one dose after or during surgery for sure if not more.

I hope your surgery goes well. I changed a lot from a hysterectomy so if you find yourself wanting to talk or something feel free to contact me.....I have gone to the site Pam gave you a few times too.

Just be sure the doctor knows before the surgery.
