What is Vulvodynia?

I have heard women say they have this from different post in my endo groups and forum, but I was wondering, what is it? And what symptoms does it cause? Thanks...I'm a curios one, and like to learn about new things!

I have all the symptoms listed for Vulvodynia but have yet to be diagnosed. I have had this for almost 4 months now with no luck for relief as of yet. I have seen both my URO and GYN and they keep trying different treatments and are just not sure what it is. Right now I am on estrogen cream and hoping it will help. The next step is a biopsy of the skin. Yikes! I dont want that! I wish there wasnt so many illnesses with no treatments and no reasons why we have them. So for now, I guess I have to live with IC and Vulvodynia until I can find some answers. :pray:
