bupivicaine (Marcaine) instillations

I'm interested in hearing what folks' experiences with Marcaine instillations have been, especially how long the effect lasts. In Moldwin's book, he says that some people get pain relief that lasts up to 4 - 5 days, but that hasn't been my experience so far.

My story here is gonna be very different from others but I used to do my own instills at home with heparin and marcaine. I was only supposed to use 3cc of marcaine but i didn't know that and used the whole 10cc. I was so numb I couldn't even tell i had a bladder. i was washing dishes and pee just started running down my legs. I was so numb I couldn't feel anything. this lasted a couple days until it wore off. When I started doing it right it numbed my bladder pretty good but not to the point where I was wetting myself. It worked good for me but after I got my job and switched insurance it was to expensive. Hope this helps!

I on the other hand have Great news to report i take it with heparin i take one heparin 1 ml with two bottles of Marcaine 10 ml with 20cc of water i take this any where from one to three times a day Yes it is safe. there is a new study out that say's it is safe it has cut my pain in half and some day's no pain at all. I can eat anything i want drink anything i want but i still stay away from real spicey foods. Heparin and Marcaine has saved my life. :D
