Hey I was wondering if I could find some others who have endo and IC. In Jan. I had a lap and found I had endo, and am now looking into getting a diagnosis of IC. From the research I have done I think it is a good chance a lot of my problem are from IC. I was just wondering. How do you know whats from endo and whats from IC? And what do you ladies do for both? I tried the Depo Provera shot and it was heck! So didn't get a second shot. I am going to start a bcp soon, and if that doesn't help I think I'll look into natural stuff. I have read that IC causing pelvic pain, but the problem is I'm always in constant bad pain, have been for years. And I'm only 18 btw. So would you say the pain is from the endo or IC? Also does anyone else have a very bad sharp pain in your lower back non-stop. I have for the last 4 months and it's really bad! I don't know what it is or what to do about it!
Well I would love to heard from those who have endo and IC. And love to hear their stories, symptoms, and how they are treating both. Thanks a ton for any replies! And feel free to PM me, or email me if you would like!

:hi:
I was DX'd with Endo in May of 1999 and IC in March of this year. To be honest with you, I have a very hard time differentiating what pain is from which condition. I have had a BAD lower backache for 5 years now, I don't think it ever goes away. My IC pain is usually in my bladder, but I've been having bad abdominal pain on both sides and now I don't know if it's from my Endo or my IC. I alwayas had bad abdominal pain on my right side and I had my 2nd lap done in Oct 2003. My Doc removed a lot of the Endo, but my abdominal pain has never gone away, so now I am thinking that it could be from the IC and if that's the case then I've had it a lot longer than I thought. I am currently treating just my IC with medicines and have had 3 DMSO's. I am not doing anything about my Endo, because quite frankly, I've run out of options. My body does not respond well to hormones at all, so I can't go on BCP's or do the shots, and Lupron containes many hormones, so I can't do that either. The only option for me right now is to have a hysterectomy, and I won't do that at my age (26) because I want to have a child so bad. If I were you I would speak to your Doc about BCP's before you go on them, because I hear that some women's IC gets much worse when taking BCP's. I am not really sure how to tell you what your pain is from, because in my experience, all of my pains over-lap each other. I don't know if this helped at all. I wish you the best of luck!

i have endometriosis, was diagnosed in 2002, had surgery in 2002 and again in 2003. was diagnosed with IC in 2003 via cystoscopy. the IC didn't start up until i did depot lupron to treat endometriosis. hmmmm. makes me wonder.

anyway, sometimes the pain i have is IC, but it feels like endo. i'll have enormous amounts of pelvic pain, then i'll go to the bathroom, and feel quite a bit better. although, now, the endo is definitely back.

my ob/gyn says they are definitely related for some women, but we think it's possible the temporary menopause caused by depot lupron contributed to my developing IC.

good luck figuring out what's going on. i hate endometriosis. it has destroyed my fertility. and it really messes with my plans. but i know things could be a lot worse.
