I had my second DMSO and I actually do not feel any worse,,,,even a little better! I am still taking pain meds. but, less, thank god. I am hoping that the treatments put me in a remission. How many of you went into remission after your DMSO?? And, how long did the remission last?

My mom use to get dmso's and I know they put her in remisson. I don't know how long it took.. Eventually they stopped and she started hydro's every 6 months to a year.. My mom had been in remission for about 2 years... she was telling me the other day well I think I need to go back to the uro...

i do the dmso at home and they have put me into remission a few times and they do help when i'm flareing to numb my bladder and stop the pain for a while i have diff times of remission but i take the treatments at home one to three times a day i take the heparin and the marcaine the marcaine is a nerve block mixed in with the heparin. I hope they contuine to work for you.

Well the fun begins again. Now in another flare. I will still continue with the next DMSO and hope that it helps long term....

Has anyone ever tried elmiron installations? My new urologist says he has a very high success rate with even the first 6 and eventually gets you down to a monthly maintance dose. This is a jump start to starting the oral elmiron and atarax and elavil.

I mentioned that same treatment to my Uro. and he said that he hadn't heard of anyone doing that. I was disappointed that he hadn't heard of it. I can't take Elimiron bc of headaches.

i asked my doctor about those before i started the heparin and he said he didn't personal like them because you had to take more of them or something like that. that isnt his ex. words. but i was also told if the elimron wasnt helping me the install wouldnt either for me to stick with my new treatment at the time the heparin and marcaine.

Dana, i hope you feel better soon i'm also flareing again i don't know if its from nerves or from another uti i dont think my first uti went away completely and its came back full force. frown
