I had my cysto/hydro & urethral dilation on 3/29. My uro has put me on perm. disability. I have had nothing but problems since this last hydro. A couple weeks after hydro, was pretty much just peeing blood and seeing bladder tissue being expelled. Also had numerous blood clots that I was passing thru the urethra. When I called the doc in mid April when these events were occurring, urinalysis showed 16-20 wbc and rbc's were too numerous to count. I had just gotten off the antibiotic that they had me on after the hydro. They then put me on Augmentin XR 1000mg twice a day.
The urine cultures never showed any bacterial growth (thank God!). When I went back to the uro on Wednesday, now my urine is not showing any wbc's but the lab result for the urine was showing positive for nitrites. After reading about what I could find on the web, could mean infection but it is weird that the urine didn't show any wbc's if there is infection.
Has anyone had this happen or possibly have any input or advice as to why all of sudden urine is showing positive for nitrites?
