I had the trial done in the surgery center yesterday and they just used local anesthetic and that was the worst pain I had ever had in my life. I was literally screaming and crying the whole time they were putting the right lead in and I refused to let them to the left lead as I didn't think I could take any more pain.
I have a huge tolerance for pain so this surprised me. I was in pain all night, it still feels like they are digging around with the introducer needle, I can't turn the stimulator up past one because it feels like a red hot poker is in there when I do.
I work in the hospital in the purchasing department and know the Medtronic rep that was in the procedure and emailed him that this was coming out today. I will call my doctor first thing when they open and tell them this has got to come out.
Both the doctor and the rep said yesterday that they had never had a patient have that amount of pain so was wondering did anyone else feel a tremendous amount of shooting pain?
