It has Vit c but not sure of the source. I emailed to ask them. Otherwise I think this could be so helpful for me! My Ic definitely flares bad from histamine and I have food intolerances.

Have you ever tried Quercetin? It is a natural antihistamine. Some people swear by it.

I called the company and the Vit C in it is Ascorbic Acid. I am so bummed! I seriously think this is the exact product that I need but so little is known about food intolerance and histamine intolerance and I think it might be the only product available in the US. I'll have to keep searching...

I have tried Quercetin and so far it's been making me flare. The worst was the one I took that had Bromelain. I'm not giving up though. There are so many sources that they can get it from so I want to keep trying other brands. Do you take it? If so which brand?

I have it, but have not taken it yet, but I may be trying it soon as I am having allergic issues. I bought one made by Pure Encapsulations. It has just quercetin in it. I am very sensitive to any meds or supplements so I make sure I only get things that have one single ingredient in them. Good luck and I hope you get some relief. I think you might be able to find the quercetin by Pure online.

Thanks Jen! I'm going to look that one up!

I'd like to still try the Histame too, but it's pricey. Well, I saw it on Amazon for only $15 plus $5 shipping, but it seems too good to be true. Like it'll take 2 months to deliver or something, since everywhere else it's $35+ :p

I have been using Histame for months and I do feel it is helping me. Prior to that I did use benadryl but felt it was not working for me. At first histame did give me an upset stomach but that went away. I did get the box for 15.00 that you mentioned and it came in 6 days. I did research this and lots of places sell this product as high as 30 dollars. So, I tend to buy three at once when I see the product at 15 dollars.

Hi Mary, that is so great that it's helping you! My only concern is that it has a little Vit C, and I called the company and it is ascorbic acid. I'm just wondering, for you, do things like ascorbic acid bother you but the Histame is ok because it's such a small amount? Or have you found that you can tolerate ascorbic acid? I used to take Vit C as ascorbic acid before I knew I had IC and I would be in the bathroom every 15mins. Thank you for the tip too with Amazon. I think it's worth a try since it's only $20!

I had taken the Quercetin by Soloray without the bromelaine and I was fine with it. I feel it was a great help and saw an improvement in about 3 weeks.

I do not eat foods with absorbic acid. I try to stay away from any type of acid. But this supplement has such a low amount and it also has calcium carbonate in it and I think perhaps the calcium helps offset the acid just the way prelief helps with acid foods. I think one ingredient washes out the other in this case. Just my theory because it doesn't bother me. This is a natural supplement and i prefer taking this as opposed to something like benadryl.

I tried the quercetin with bromlain. I didn't think it helped but it did not bother me. I did not flair from it.

Earthlady : In what way did quercetin help you. What symptoms did it help? i may try it again.

Earthlady - Thank you for the suggestion! I think I might try the Solaray brand :)

Mary - Sounds like I would probably be ok with taking the Histame too! I ordered it from Amazon at the $15 price, but then I got an email saying they canceled it! I went back and got it for $24 but with free shipping this time so still not too bad :)

I took a Zyrtec last night and sure enough my bladder went from being in a raging flare with me in tears thinking I'm never going to be able to keep a job and feeling completely hopeless to me practically sleeping through the night and this morning my bladder feels almost completely calmed down! I'm feeling pretty drowsy, probably from the Zyrtec, but I don't care since my bladder feels so great! Praying it stays this way while I'm at my new job today!

MaryS- It helped with the frequency and irritation, especially at night. I was taking 500mg twice a day.

earthlady:

My old bottle says 800 mg quercitan and 200 bromlain. I shall try that again and see if it helps at all. Right now I am trying MSM and have been on it for months but I really don't think it is doing much.

IamBlessed: i just ordered histame last week and received it already. When i went to order it it said only one left in stock. I was not happy as I rather buy 3 boxes and pay one shipping cost verses buy them individually and paying shipping for each box. then later on in the evening I went back and saw that they had a lot more in stock. i wonder if they do this so you keep ordering them individually and pay for shipping each time. I found it kinda odd that the stock amount changed within a few hours.

WOW, so happy to hear the zyrtek helped you. perhaps you should stick with that for awhile and see if your symptoms improve. i did read it helped others. I tried zyrtek, claritin and benedryl and they did not help and did constipate me.

Good Luck I hope the Histame works for you. I take atarax at bedtime and it is an anti-histamine ( I think ). It works for me and I sleep straight through the night. it also helps with sleep.
