Hi everybody,
I had my 5th cystoscopy a week and a half ago. They found ulcers on my bladder. Anyways, question is will uro do this procedure as treatment? I am feeling about 70% better, I am having times of no pain and I have gone a few times for 2 hours stretches without having to use the bathroom. I am still not 100% and I am still going to see a pain management dr, but if the distention helps my symptoms will they do it again??
Thanks,
Hope everyone is having a pain free day!!!!

I'm still new to understanding this procedure, so bare with me. Why have you had the cysto done so many times? and why didn't the ulcers show up before?
Sorry you are in so much pain and I hope you can find full recovery soon!

I have had bladder problems for 10 years, I was in full remission for 4 and half years, then it started up again. I switched docs and wanted a second opinion. I guess my IC just got worse and I didn't have the ulcers in October of 2003 but now I do.

I just had three hunners removed from my bladder threw surgery and scar tissue but most of the time dmso treatments will help for what my doctor told me in most cases the dmso treatments reduces the hunners until they are gone. In my case it didn't work so i had them removed, but for what i understand having them removed should be last way to get rid of them.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda.

If the hydro worked for you, I suggest you ask your doctor if that is an option for you if symptoms return. Hydrodistentions have been a major part of my treatment for all of my 29 years with IC and I have had 35.
