Bladder Scan

I had my first uro appt today and he did a bladder scan. It showed I was still holding 274 ml of urine, and I had just peed prior to the scan. Evidently, this is a lot of urine to have in my bladder immediately after peeing.

I have another appt in about 10 days where he'll do an in office cysto, just to look. He said they use a numbing gel, and that teh cysto is smaller than a catheter. I know it will still be uncomfortable, but I also know he has to get in there and look around.

Just wondering if any of you have this much urine left in your bladders after peeing. I know it's definitely not normal. No wonder I feel like I have to go all the time - I really do have to go!!:bonk:

Well, before I began treatment for IC, I used to retain 150-200 ml in my bladder after urinating. However, that has improved a lot now that I've been on my meds (and had some DMSO instills).

It's definitely not normal to retain a lot like you are. It can make infections more likely, and like you say, it makes you feel like you always have to go. Hopefully your uro cathed you to get that urine out... and I hope you find some treatments that help you in the future.
