Hi everyone,
I need help with a yeast infection I believe to be caused by a fertility herbal I have been taking prescribed by my naturopath. I started the herbal on Tuesday and by Thursday morning I had the dreaded symptoms of a yeast infection. This has flared by vulvodynia terribly – Kind of Ironic, I use a fertility herbal and now I can’t even have sex to make a baby.

Anyway, it is driving me insane. I have used 150mg difflucan, which I previously was on weekly (I had some left over) I was wondering if it may be safe to take more? I took this on Friday. I know your not all doctors and will tell me to talk to my doctor but honestly has anyone taken more than this to rid themselves of yeast?

I bought a pessary on Sunday which I have used before without flaring my vulvodynia – no relief yet.

also have been putting yoghurt in and around the vagina. I can’t eat it it flares my bladder.

Also 100% cotton underwear and probiotics.

WHAT ELSE! HELP PLEASE it hurts sooo much

CLotrimazole (brand name Gynelotrimin) is the only thing that works for me for yeast and doesn't burn like monistat or the other brands.

And lots of people here use Diflucan, the oral tab, but it never really worked for me even with multiple doses.

Thanks Briza,

Hope you are still doing well. Did you use the CLotrimazole cream? I can't use creams down there it just hurts!

Going for a swab tomorrow to see if it is even yeast. I have now taken 300mg of fluconazole as advised by my gp, used yoghurt inside, probiotics to the max and it still burns so much.

Did you have frequency yeast infections? If so how did you get rid?!?!?!!

Yes, it's a cream. It's the only one I've ever found that doesn't burn. You might try a test spot to see how you react.

I had chronic yeast and bacterial vaginosis for 10 yrs, all thru my 20s. It was awful! But by the time my IC and VV started up in my mid 30s I got only occasional yeast infections (1 a year or so). Seems I outgrew them? Maybe it was hormone related.

Unfortunately for me, it was the Clotrimazole that caused burning so bad
I was in excruciating pain!!

My doctor recommends a vaginal probiotic suppository. I was successful with it.
You insert the suppositories for 10 days before bed. They do tend to leak
out the next day so prepare to wear a panty liner.

I hope you find something that works , and soon !

Well what kicked this off was a fertility herbal so deff hormone related. I got them all the time on BCP.

I am scared that once I go back on the fertility herbal I will get yeast again. But I need something to regulate my ovulation!!

I will see what the swab says and then try the cream if it is positive.

What is the name of the probiotic suppository?

Could I just put pro-biotics up there? :)

I have no clue if this will help but my OBGYN put me on "Restora" for chronic yeast infections and I stop having them after one month. I have been infection free for about 4 months. You can order it over the internet. It is a powerful probiotic. It even comes in cold or hot pacts depending on the weather to keep it the proper temperture. I also use Harvest Aloe Vera Personal Gel on the vaginal area to keep it lubricated so I do not burn when I go to the bathroom. This seems to help with my Vulodynia from flaring so bad.

Good Luck! I hope you find relief soon. What works for one person might not help another but at least we are trying to keep each other imformed about products we've used and worked for us.
