i'm in the process of getting familiar with ic terms and identifying my symptoms. i'm confused about urethral syndrome. is that a chronic urethral pain or pain during urination or both? along with pain and frequency/urgency, with no infection i have burning upon urination. is that alone urethral syndrome? :hmm:

i am also confused on that issue.....i think that means its urethral syndrome but i can't find a clear answer....:dizzy:
i personally find sometimes i feel like i am being stabbed with a hot knife in my urethra.....i am not sure what thats about either.....:headbang:
i do know that getting lidocaine on the catheter for my instil helps that....
all i can say is that your not alone so thats something...
hope you get an answer and if you do let all of us know

I'm just as confused as both of you. In fact I still have not determined where my pain begins and ends. I always thought of myself as having mostly urethral pain. However, when I thought about my reply here it's more just vaginal pain. I do not have burning when urinating as an infection would feel but vaginal burning is almost a constant for me. It is frustrating.
