Hi everyone, I just wanted to share that in the June 2004 issue of Cat Fancy magazine, feline IC (FIC) gets a mention. I was surprised to see that cats can get IC, however, on second thought it makes a whole lotta sense.:cat:
The article on page 37 of this issue says cats with FIC account for approximately 1.5 percent of cats seen by vets. It even says in the article that "stress seems to trigger FIC episodes."
Interesting, huh?

I've heard about this...I read that Doctor's and Vet's think that cats get IC from having a small adrenal gland and that it might be the same with people. I read that they think that cats that aren't as active get it more often than cats that have an active lifestyle. They say that it's very important to give your cats plenty of things to play with and to make sure they have a window they can look out if you keep them indoors. I myself give my cat two windows everyday to look out and she has an abundance of toy mice to play with. Now whether this means that people who are less active have more of a chance to get IC, I do not know. They don't know for sure that the IC in cats is similar to IC in humans, but they think that it might be. Anyway, just thought I would let you know that I've heard about this.
