I've been working with a wonderful nurse practitioner at the Beth Israel Pain Clinic (NYC) and she has been working with this wonderful pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy (The Royal Care Pharmacy) and the pharmacist developed at cream that can be applied directly to the urethra--and will be developing another one to apply to my skin--for when my symptoms, as they always do, travel backto my bladder and my abdominal region. Anyway, the first ten days the cream, which I applied to my urethra, worked great. Then it stopped working. But the pharmacist is going to adjust the formula. It would be great to get off opiates and so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Just thought I'd pass this on. I never knew that such a thing as a "compounding pharmacy" existed before. And most of the ingredients in the cream are the same as what was in the bladder instillations I used to have three times a week and administer to myself, too, until I started getting recurrent bladder infections and until my symptoms, thankfully, settled, at least for the time being, in my urethra.
