What if you "get" pregnant while on the meds.....

Like the Atarax and Elmiron. I read you don't have to stop until you know you are pregnant, but by the time you know you have been pregnant for 3 or 4 weeks!!! "I wonder" if in that short time the meds. harm the fetus. I know this is a question for a doctor, I am just hoping for a variety of "opinions" from others....

I think it's fair to say that it's important to pick your time to get pregnant carefully and wait until you're at a point with your IC where you are using very few, if any, meds. I have a good friend who had horrible IC. She desperately wanted children and waited.... to her great relief. Because, when she finally became pregnant, not only was her IC much better but she was one of those lucky ones who went into a complete remission during her pregnancy. I think that's because she really did wait until she was feeling so much better. She had a bouncing baby boy as well!

My pregnancy "snuck" up on us. I had really wanted to wait a few years....but hubby's biological clock was ticking. (Loudly he said.);)
So I had been on elmiron the first few months and have a healthy two year old.........who wears me out!:D
