Hubby and I have decided to TTC now I am feeling a lot better. Here is the thing my mum has antiphosphilipid syndrome that got brought out once she had me., which I have read is quite common. I have the antibodies but not the syndrome so I guess that puts me at risk. I also stupidly spent years on OBC which I have now learned can also trigger Antiphosphilipid Syndrome.

So here's the deal. TTC with IC, PFD, VV, PCOS and the possibility of this new syndrome.......

Wish us luck! I am terrified!

Needsrelief: Are you charting etc? I don't think I ovulate. See my natropath tomorrow for check up so I will ask her for something to kick start my ovulation, I have a huge amount of faith in her as she has got me to this point with all my other health concerns. We haven't been using any controception at all for 6 months but he has mostly been pulling out untill now.

Kuntry gurl - Any issues conceiving? How did you go with a cath for the c-section and your IC? My ureathra is just too sensitive!

kuntrygurl78-thank you :)

Claire A- I have never charted. It seems a bit time consuming and tedious and I kinda already have a hectic schedule. (work and school). I will see my new gyn in jan. maybe she will be able to test to see if Im ovulating.

The best way my natropath told me to tell is by checking Cervical Mucus. I am not sure if they can do a blood test for it?! If so that would be great. My CM is never that egg white they talk about that indicates ovulation.

Hope you get a positive result soon! xx

I had no problems conceiving. I got pregnant the first try :)

I did have problems with the cath. The day it was removed, I had numbness I think and I didnt feel my bladder until it was too full. I was in extreme pain and went to the bathroom. After I relieved myself, I put myself on a sort of bladder retraining program. I went every half hour for a while then every hour until I was sure that I could feel it. It was fine by the end of the day.

My pregnancy was easy and boring. I had one uti. Missed one day of work because of it. Thats it. My IC went into remission and its still there for the most part. Ive had a few minor flare ups. I credit my remission to breastfeeing :)

I typed up my entire birth story but it wont fit into one of these message boxes. If you send me your email, Ill send it. Or you can look it up on my facebook page. Good luck!

Thanks everyone.

Kuntrygurl I think I have ready your birth story, I think you emailed it to me a while ago.

First step is to get over the conception part. My natropath has advised me to wait it out for a few more months if nothing happens she will give me a herbal to kick start it.

It's frustrating because I don't know if/when I ovulate and we don't want to chart but having sex every other day is flaring me a bit :(

Hi Claire, I too have IC and have been trying to conceive for almost a year. Things have been very difficult for me as well. I have spent the last year not having a period on my own. I have had to take progesterone to have a monthly period, but this only causes you to have a withdrawal bleed and not actually ovulate. So I'm not ovulating either. Last month, I went to my doctor for a checkup and with the hopes of starting Clomid to help me ovulate, but they found a cyst on my left ovary and they have but me back on birth control pills for 2 cycles to hopefully shrink it. After being off of the pills for almost a year, the hormones have made my bladder go crazy. I have spent the last month just trying to get it back under control. It is doing much better than before, but I had spent at least 6 months before with hardly no symptoms at all. It makes me feel better to know that at least someone else is experencing the same type of thing I have and having IC makes things much more difficult. I have been very worried about my symptoms if I were to get pregnant and how I would feel for 9 months. My doctor says that 70% of women are in remission for their pregnancy. How have things been going for you over the past few weeks? I wish you all the luck and baby dust!!! My next check-up is at the end of January and I hope to be able to start the Clomid then depending on the size of the cyst. Good Luck to you:)

Hi Nichole,
I'm very interested in your experiences with clomid. I was finally diagnosed with IC in 2008 after battling with it on and off since 2000. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 12 months without any success, as my post-luteal phase is too short. My OB/GYN (who is also a urologist) has given me a prescription for Clomid but, as I've been having a particularly bad IC month (all the sex around ovulation isn't helping) I'm worried that the Clomid may flare my IC up even more. Can you shed any light on your experiences in this regard? My OB/GYN has said that I can keep trying w/out the Clomid if I like as 'eventually' I should fall pregnant, but at the same time a year without some of my meds has been hard. If we want to fall pregnant immediately he has said IVF is the way to go, but as I'm only 33, he doesn't recommend.
Thanks,
Louise.
