I've been constantly leaking urine since last Friday. I rarely had this problem beforehand. Not sure if it could somehow relate to the botox injections I had in my bladder on August 30th. I've been holding my urine more than before since it's harder to empty, but I don't know what else could be causing this problem. In spite of leaking every hour or more, I still have trouble emptying completely. Have had some new pain too. Doc doesn't know what could be the problem yet. I saw him 2 days ago and I go back on Friday. Fun stuffs.

Maybe your Doctor gave you to much Botox. :hmm:

Botox works as a paralytic, so I don't see how it wouldn't prevent the bladder from working as well as it should. Perhaps if your urinary sphincter was weak to begin with? I know mine sure is!

Mine's never been weak before. I have the retention problem and am used to holding it for hours. Hmm... I wonder how often people leak when they do anyway?

I had botox injections done Nov 17th and since I got them I have to cath myself alot more because I can not seem to get all the urine out which is making me leak. :headbang: It also does not help since I had surgery I have had broncitus now phnomonia (got yelled at by doc for that one) and I keep coughing I have to constantly wear a pad now.. however now I have found if I cath myself right before bed and use my valuim suppository gel I dont have such a problem most nights.. I HATE IC I just wish it would go away I am tired of dealing with this.. however since the Botox injections the pain level has decreased about 90%.. the only thing I use for pain at all is the valuim gel...
hope you can get things under control...

I am suffering from IC for 10 years. Some times it was better some, times worse. I did not have any remission for the past 18 months. My doctor scheduled the botox procedure for me on March 1. I am very nervous if I have to do it. I am not sure if I will be able to void normally after botox surgery and if botox will eliminate bladder pain and urgency. I have a bad experience to install catheter in my bladder before. It cause bladder inflammation even worse.
Please advise if somebody had this procedure before and what is the result?

Thank you very much.

Happy Holidays to everybody!!!!

Out of curiosity.. how painful is the injection? Somehow I would imagine a needle in an IC inflamed bladder isn't a great idea..

I was knocked out for the injection, so no pain I felt. Felt fine after. By the way, my bladder stopped leaking after 2 weeks. Thank goodness!
