I used to love oatmeal scotchies, oatmeal cookies with butterscotch morsels. My bladder is very sensitive, but here it is the holidays and I love to bake cookies and it's hard not to want to eat some too! I did not see anything on the IC Diet about butterscotch, has anyone tried it with success? Also, I saw a few people are able to tolerate white chocolate, anyone with a very sensitive bladder able to eat it? Ugh, so frustrating this time of year, so many treats and so little that I'm able to eat. Any suggestions regarding safe treats for Christmas would be most appreciated! Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Hi Jen,
I haven't tried Butterscotch, but I do okay with white chocolate, especially white chocolate bars from Safeway, and Ghiradelli white hot chocolate.
My bladder is pretty diet sensitive, if that helps at all.
Try a little bit of what you're craving and see how you do.

I make butterscotch chip cookies all the time (well, I used to, but I ate too many!). Safeway has a really delicious blueberry white chocolate:)
I'm very diet sensitive & have not had problems with those things.
(Some white chocolate does bother me though - for some reason the Lindor ones flare me. Weird.)
PS. I make these for potlucks all the time and there are never any left to bring home.
Everyone wants the recipe:)

Butterscotch and white chocolate are usually well tolerated. I make white chocolate chip cookies or butterscotch chip cookies all the time. You can do Oatmeal raisin.
We can also have shortbread cookies. You can dip the shortbread in white chocolate if you want. You could also make a butterscotch/caramel sauce to dip the cookies in. You can then dip in tolerated nuts. I posted a White Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake that really good on this site as well. If you like carob you can make carob chip cookies or use carob for dipping cookies. You can do white chocolate coconut, chopped almonds and raisins(if can tolerate) clusters. You just melt chocolate add Nitrate free coconut, almonds and raisins. Drop by spoonful pn wax paper and cool. You could add dried blueberries if you want. There are so many ideas. Let me know if you want more or if there is something in particular that you would like to eat and I'll IC proof a recipe for you.
