Has anyone tried Oxytrol patches? They are mainly subscribed for overactive bladder, but my doc gave some to me today to try. Instead of taking pills all the time, the patch just releases the medication automatically so it is given to you in the proper amount of dosage at the right times.

I haven't started using them yet, but was curious if anyone here has tried them and has had any opinion on them or success wit hthem.

Thanks.

Dana

I have tried the Oxytrol patch before and loved it but it gave me bad headaches but it did work for me.
if you have the time please look back on some of the treads here many of us has tried it. IF i remember right alot of us loved it.
i gave it up due to the headaches but that has been like a year ago. I have other treatments right now that works well for me.
if you are going back looking i would go back for at least six mths on the threads to read what others wrote about it also since he gave you some out of the office there is a great website on the package you can take a look at. I havent looked at the site in a while but it had some helpful hints things to watch out for etc. etc.
hope it goes well for you it only took two days and it worked for me.
but so did the headaches. I have not heard of anyone else having this side effect.
just me.
Hope it goes well and please let us know.
sending you hugs and prayers

I've been using the oxytrol patch for almost a year now. It works pretty good for me with frequency/urgency. I still have to have pain pills several times per week, but without the patch, I need them constantly and am very uncomfortable. I've also tried the oral drugs for frquency/urgency (detrol, ditropan, urispas) but these either didn't work or I had really bad side effects. I've had very little side effects with the oxytrol patch.

I have to use a patch every 2 days instead of every 3-4 b/c it stops working as well early. My uro wrote the script for more often so I'll have enough patches. She says I am a high metabolizer of meds.

Take care,
Nicole
