View Full Version : chicken pox at age 55
I have pfd and mild ic. I was diagnosed with chicken pox (not shingles - the varicella (chickenpox) test came back positive. The blood work showed that I already had immunity but I still tested positive. I had chickenpox the first time at age 35 - not a mild case either.
My question is does anyone think that the inflammation from ic causes you to be immunocompromised - that it's easier for those suffering from IC to pick up other diseases more easily. Thanks for you feedback

I know it's tough to get "childhood" diseases as an adult. I hope they are medicating you so you don't itch too badly.
Sending healing thoughts,

So sorry that you have Chicken pox! I had them when I was 32 years old (now 52). My family actually had a "family affair" -- first my youngest son had them, about a week later I got them ( the day before Thanksgiving no less!) and then my eldest son got them again (had a really mild case the first time--so mild that I thought they were ant bites; the second time a few months later a very bad case (all over outside and inside of his body) and then when he was 7--don't ever believe doctors when they say you can only get them once!)
Anyway, hope you are not itching too badly (do you know how hard it is to tell your kids not to scratch when you are doing it!!??) We took a lot of oatmeal baths.
