I have had Ovarian cysts bilaterally twice and they required surgery both times. The doctor told me last time if they returned he would not be abe to save my ovaries and I would need a hysterectomy. I also have adenomyosis ( endo of the uterus) so he would need to take everything.
I am not ready for that. I still want another baby. I am hoping that this pelvic pain IS my bladder and not more ovarian issues. I am so nervous!

I would get a second opinion, I had a very simular story, I didn't let them take out my uterus until I had another child, and when he did I asked him not to take out my overies unless he had too, after surgery he said he had not taken them, I did go on to have more cysts removed, but each time he said he could not see taking my overies even if I had to have surgery every couple of years for cysts. I have gone through meno now so no more cysts, and I never did have my overies removed.
Yes I did put up with the cysts and the aden longer than I needed too, but I also got the one more baby I wanted, I had him a little sooner than I had planned on but I still had him, and I am so glad I did no matter what I had to go through.
I did not go into remission with preg like some people do, infact my IC was worse and I ended up in the hosptial for a flare and on bed rest for a couple of months due to a constant flare and the exhaustion that went with it.
We are all different and what we will put up with but my son was worth every minute of the extra pain and misery.
I would just get a second opinion, every Dr. see things a different way, and has different ideas.
You just need to decide what is best for you and your situation.

I already have an appointment scheduled for a second opinion and I have not even had the ultrasound yet! My doctor in gyn oncologist and he is the very best, he has saved my ovaries twice.I do have alot of respect for him and he warned me that the cysts had a very high possibility if returning. I just wish I could relax!

In 2004 i started having severe lower abdominal pain. I went to my gyno and she kept telling me it had to do with my female parts.. but I was not sure.. they did exploritory surgery and found "nothing" but right after that because the pain increases so bad I was always doubled over in pain they did a hystorectomy but left my overies.. the pain continued and got worse even. i was living in illinois at the time. When I moved back home to washington I went and saw my gyno that delievered my daughers. (luckly I was not able to have anymore children anyhow because they tied my tubes after my second daugter because I had such difficult pregnancies.) My gyno in Wa told me i had IC.. Now i am having severe pain and they found a cyst on my overy (didnt lose those in my hystorectomy) But it helped alot because it helped with the massive pain when I would have my periods.. so it was a 50/50 thing.. I love not having the monthly cycles and it helped my depression in MANY ways.. however I still have major amounts of pain with the IC flares.. I was supposed to have an ultrasound the other day to check the ovarian cyst but I am in so much pain right now there is NO WAY I could go through having the test done.. :dizzy: I am just ready for a day with no pain..
I wish you luck and hope you can get everything figured out.. HUGS

Hi LeslieAnn,
Sorry to hear you have to go through this! Please don't worry too much - easier said then done, I know. After the ultrasound, even if you have cysts, I'm sure there will still be options. A big hug!

I happy to report I do not have dermoid cysts again! But I do have a fluid filled tube and the doctor wants to take a wait and see approach to that for now. I am not feeling a lot of confidence in this doctor really. I am so glad I already have a second opinion appointment scheduled.

I don't really know what a fluid filled tube means, but a big congratulations on the no cysts!!!! That's great news.
Maybe this is too personal, but if your ovaries are healthy now, would it be possible to take some egg cells and freeze them for when you want to be pregnant again, in case the cysts return?

I wish we could do that but that is so expensive! Hopefully we can figure out what is up with the tube and then try to get pregnant naturally right now. I just have to get My husband on the bandwagon.

That's such a sweet age!
I visited a friend who has a three weeks old baby today, and I can totally understand why you'd want to hurry to have another one ;-) Although I do think those first weeks must be incredibly tough, too.

First congradulations on the future wedding..I have a question that has been bothering me for months, I have this discharge and it has a foul ordor, it is kind of greenish, my doctor said it is called gardenella. Well I looked up the meaning and I could not make heads or tails out of it. I have very bad burning when I urinate and it looks like someone sprinkled powder in the comode. I asked for a refural to be sent to a specialist, but have not heard back yet. Does anyone else have the same problem like I am having?? Please help me I also have a lump near the uretha and when I wipe or urinate it is quite painful. Thanks for listening and I hope someone can help me.
God Bless.

Hi Sue,
I have no idea what gardanella is or what could be wrong with you, but I agree you should see a specialist. Please make some phone calls to follow up on your referral and get an appointment soon! In the mean time, take good care of yourself, allow yourself to relax... I wish you all the best.

Sue that type of vaginal infection definitely needs treatment with either oral or vaginal suppository/cream/gel type antibiotics. I hope your doctor prescribed one of those tihngs, as untreated bacterial infections can cause PID and other pelvic problems which can lead to scar tissue and other permanent issues.
