I find it very intersting what the author says about the difference in treatment between men and women. I take an interest in gender issues, and sometimes I do feel it's harder for a woman to get taken seriously. Deep down, I suspect that if IC was more of a man's disease, they would have gone to the bottom long ago. It doesn't help that urologists are used to dealing with men mostly and that their waiting rooms are full of pictures of penises...

I wonder if any research has been done about difference in treatment for men and women in general?
