Does this help with frequency/urgency or only with pain? Frequency urgency is my main issue.

It is hard to say. It helps with all of my IC symptoms, mostly I think with pain, but it is not restricted to pain relief.
I have retention issues and have found this is the only medication that I can take that helps me retain less.
The thinking is not that it makes you pee more, but decrease my pain and hence spasms, so I can pee easier.
It is really hard to say with meds as everyone reacts so differently. You could look up this med and see if increased urination is listed in the side effects. I don't know if the info would really be of any value because use of it for IC is what is called an off label use.
So the side effects are usually based on a normal dosage for what ever it is intended for, I don't know if for IC it is a higher or lower dosage than what it is usually used for.
For IC dosage is commonly thought to be up to 20mgs per day, I have no idea how much people take per day, each Dr. rx's as they see fit.
Maybe someone else will jump in and share what they think.
