Didn't want to be vulgar in the title, but here goes, Does anyone out there have irritation between the anus and the vagina? I can't find anything to help with it, it's driving me crazy. Tried using vaginal cream but had to stop because my body started developing polyps or vulvar pappilea ( i think that's what you call them) Anyway I can't find anything to help. Can anyone out there please help? Also if there is anyone out there who has these polyps, can you tell me if they will go away? I feel as though I am deformed now. Went to my doctor and she's only seen them one other time. She is certain they were caused by the vaginal cream. Just recently had a flare that is still going on just not as bad right now. Will the irritation go away? PLEASE HELP AND THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO CAN!! BLESS EVERYONE OUT THERE:angel:

I can't answer your question about polyps.

I do have a few suggestions that might help the irritation:
1. Be sure you are using plain white, unscented toilet tissue and blot (don't wipe).
2. Cotton underpants.
3. Avoid putting soap directly on the irritated area.
4. Try avoiding tub baths and stick with showering only to see if that helps.

I hope you feel better quickly.

My 21-year-old daughter was recently complaining of pain but not vaginally, more towards her rectum. I took her to the gynecologist expecting it to be yeast; however, cultures came back positive for Group B Strep. She is now on antibiotics. Has your doctor tried swabbing this area and sending it out for a culture?

This problem has been talked about many times, search Volvidinyia (sp). Britza ie a wealth of info for this problem and can probably give you links for things to help.

It should be tested so you know what you are treating, or least examined by a doc who will know what it is, before you try home treatments.

If it is VV, what you have been told all help, but I also found that applying vit E oil helpped me a lot.

I just bought Vit e capsules and poked a hole in them squeezed out the vit E and applied to effected area.

Lichen planus is an autoimmune disease that effects the skin, including the genital area. You might want to mention when you see your doctor (an ob/gyn?) that you have IC (frequently theorized to be an autoimmune disease) and also list any other autoimmune diagnoses that you have.

For many of us, the autoimmune problem list grows and grows...
