I have just started trying the IC Diet to see if it helps any. I am concerned that if I'm not eating certain food I won't get all the nutiients I need. Are there any certain vitamins or minerals, or anything else I should be taking? I already take a mulit vitamin, calcium (because I'm lastose in tolerant and don't drink milk), Vitamin B Complex-this was suggested for me because of a shot I got that gave me terrible fatigue, and once in a while I take Vitamin C. Any advice would be appreciated! I just don't want to cause myself more problems while trying to make myself feel better! Thank you!

Hi,
Well for me I can't take the multiple or the vit C of any kind without causing a major flare. We are all individual when it comes to the diet stuff. Some people do tolerate Ester C ok.
Here is a link to the Handbook. You should find a section in there on Vitamins and the diet. I hope that will help some.:)

I went to this great health food store close to me, and spent a long time with a nutritionist/consultant. She located some extremely mild and low dosage B vitamin complex which I have been using with great success. I also take 400IU of vit. E. and am now able to tolerate up to 1,000mg. of Naturaol Ester C (without any flavonoids.) I also found a low dosage, gentle mineral supplement at this store. The nutritionist was extremely careful and also suggested MSM which I am taking. however, I started SLOW and built up to this level GRADUALLY, and one at a time, so if something bothered me, I would know what it was. For ex. I tried a dried blueberry capsule; that burned like heck!! Everyone is individual, and I get all my capsules free from additives, yeast, glutens, sugars, etc. Costs more, but helped me get the vitamins I think I needed.

I too feel like I could use some additional nutritional supplementation but it seems like an endless pursuit. I take glucosamine, chrondroitin, MSM, quercetin, bromelain, potassium, magnesium, calcium, D, E, etc. It is really C, and B Complex vitamins that I find hard to take as well as getting enough protein. I am trying to follow a low acid diet so I am eating lots and lots of vegetables. I sometimes cut a vitamin pill in pieces, or take some filler out of capsules in order to try something I'm not sure of. My weight is going down, down, down and if I can't get that stopped I plan to get some diet counseling. I am trying to learn to sprout foods as they are less acid and higher in nutrients. I am pleased with the results of my new alkaline diet pursuit. I slept for a 6 hour stretch last night and had a 4 hour stretch this afternoon without a trip to the bathroom.

Hi! I don't understand what "sprouts food" means. Also, what type of alkaline diet are you following? What are you eating that's more alkaline? Thanks for any info. liz
