My new uro/gyn did a blood test that showed my estrogen and progesterone levels are extremely low. She wants me off the Pill even though it seems to help with flares before my period.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know of any relationship between the two? HELP.

Bear w/ me on this since I've had a hyster 13yrs. ago.
I'm not sure what you;re talking about but if it is:
I spoke to a gf a few weeks ago and she told me she used to turn into a luni bird w/ pms until she had a long talk w/ her dr. and now she takes a little pill around that time, just for about a week, during that time and it takes away all the pms. I was amazed and of course she told me she was too.
if this has anything to do w/ what you;re talking about let me now. Otherwise, sorry.

I guarantee you many have been helped by the pill for their IC....and other treatments with hormones as well......
If that was your question...glad to help ya.
Do you have any negative symptoms from having lowing estrogen right now....?
I hope you can find a way to keep the flare problems down.
Take care.

Hi Beth,
I think my IC is definitely conected to hormones. A few years ago I went off of my birth control and I had IC flares, hormone fluctuations, vaginal dryness, migranes, est. It was only a few nonths after my second child was born. At the time my GYN didn't know what to do. He did urinalysis and a pap that had no irregular results. We even tested for stds! He put me back on my bc and everything returned to normal. The same thing happened this past March and I was finally diagnosed with IC from a referral to my uro. For me, my IC has to be in conjunction with my hormones. I have had mood swings pretty bad and I also can't remember little things like I used to. I have another appt with my uro in a month and I plan to discuss this with her. The last time that I saw her it didn't even occur to me to mention the problems with the pill. I didn't know at the time that hormones and IC could be connedted.
Hope this helps you.
