elmiron and atarax? pain? help me!

i have been taking elmiron and atarax for 3 months now. 100 mg of elmiron 3 x daily and 25 mg of atarax at night. i have so much pain and when i see my uro for pelvic, right leg and hip pain he just says keep taking your emiron. he says it takes 6 months, and my pcp prescibed restoril for sleep. does any of this helps? my uro doesn't seem to take my pain seriously, and he was the one who did the cysto and diagnosed me 3 months ago and ever since then i have had nothing but pain. my right leg hurts so does my pelvis that i need to go on disability for a month for physical therapy for my leg and pain. i also went to a pain specialist for cortisone shots in the pelvis and he basically wrote me off. my uro also states that this pain has nothing to do with ic, i am so confused?

You may also have fibromylagia. You should consider seeing a rhuematologist who can help with the pain and sleep.

My suggestion would be to see your primary care doctor about those pains that may not be related to your IC. Your PC can then refer you to specialists, as needed --- and he will know which specialist is appropriate.

I have pain in both legs that goes down to my feet. It is referred pain from the IC.
Elmiron takes more than 6 months to work. I think your Uro is just thinking after the 6 months it might start working. I would give Elmiron at least a year.
