Not sure how you guys felt about having my personal information there. I don't mind myself, but I figure you might be worried for security so I blacked out my name.

Woo Hoooo!!!! Do you have a link to the article on your website?? Also, I'm perfectly fine with you using your real name, etc. etc. so please consider posting the article with all the information rather than the blackouts if you're comfortable with that.
I LOVE that you got in the comment about cranberry being irritating, the diet, the loneliness and more. Really WELL WELL DONE!!!!!
Can you please send me a link to it or a picture of the article without anything blacked out? I'd love to put it on the Awareness page!

Here's the uncensored version. The only website I have it up on is my photobucket page (and facebook, which, by the way, you're all welcome to add me as long as you're cool with lots of naughty words from a young gal, just message me and say you're from the ICN).

Thanks Julie =)
I'm a very blunt person and am not shy to share any info. Like I said if any of you think you can use this to spread information then please go ahead and use it to your own whims.

Good for you!! This is a wonderful informative and personal article. I can totally identify especially about not wanting to commit to friends to avoid letting them down. That's been the theme of my life lately. Its so great that you put yourself out there and spread awareness for IC, and giving it a lovely face and a name is definitely helpful in getting people to take it seriously. It's a great article. How did you get it run? Did you contact your newspaper and ask them to interview you? I think I would like to maybe do something like that next September, haha. It can be hard to expose ourselves to the world, but I've learned that while it makes us vulnerable, it also can help a lot of people. I haven't yet been that brave with IC, but I was very outspoken about suicide after I lost an otherwise healthy family member to mental illness. The amazing thing was how many people were encouraged to talk about their experiences as a result of my outspokenness. I'm sure the same thing has happened with you. Knowledge is power!

I emailed the editor of my local newspaper with basic information and noted it was the awareness month. They replied asking for my number so I gave it to them and they interviewed me via phone. I live in a fairly small town, so it's not quite as "out there" as I'd hope. I'm now trying to get articles into more widely distributed papers or articles. And my mindset is more of this is a war I'm being forced to fight in, so I might as well win it.
