Hello everyone! It has been almost two years since I have visited. I was diagnosed with IC over ten years ago and have tried Elmiron 3 times with no luck and DMSO treatments. For me the ONLY help is a hydro/cysto every 6-9 months. BUT I just started a new job and CAN NOT be off for a week and dealing with this :headbang:
Any suggestions on diet, over the counter, anything to stall the flare or calm it down for a little??? :help:

Sometimes a smooth muscle antispasmodic will help delay my need for a hydrodistention. The one I usually take is hyoscyamine.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the suggestion Donna. Is hyoscyamine a med that I would need a perscription for? Thank you again.

Yes, you do need a prescription.

Hydroxizine (sp) or Aterax (sp) and rx antihimtamine can help the bladder feel much better fairly quickly. It is an RX too but usally not very expensive, you probably have tried it beofre if you had IC for any lenght of time, but it might be worth a try to buy you some more time.

Thank you both for the suggestions for meds. I am going to give my urologist a call and see if I have tried any of the these in the past. I have been on so many meds over the years, I can remember them all :(
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :grouphug:
