I know many with IC can tolerate blueberries, and am wondering if anybody has any experience with eating huckleberries?

I eat wild huckleberries with no problem. There's a campground where we go every fall and pick them. The ones in our area are very small so we put them in pancakes or muffins.

Thanks for the reply, Donna. Is it just me or does that huckleberry picking get a little harder with each passing year??? I remember when I used to go up in the mountains and wouldn't head for home 'til I'd picked at least two gallons. Now if I spend as little as two hours picking my back gets terribly sore!

I've had a lot of luck using the IC diet as far as pain is concerned. I'm still bringing foods back in to my diet to get an idea of which were causing trouble, and had yet to try huckleberries. I had company coming and nothing to serve for dessert yesterday, when I remembered the huckleberries in the freezer. While they're so much like blueberries, they are a little more tart, and I wasn't sure if that would be something I'd be paying for later! Anyway, I made a huckleberry crisp. (Mmmmm!) I only had a small piece just in case it caused a flare-up, however, eighteen hours have passed and I still feel fine. -Guess it's time to try another piece,.......or maybe two!!!!
