I survived the urodynamics testing yesterday and I was all worried mostly about the rectal probe which ended up being the easiest of all. My testing showed no irregularities in flow, pressure or anything like that. I was only able to hold 300 cc of water in my bladder which she said was normal for an ic patient. I was extemely uncomfortable at 250 and she wanted to get at least 300 in there and by that time I was doing a little get this damn thing out dance and doing the i'm in pain rockin back and forth. It wasn't all that bad really - worse in my mind than anything. I thought my bladder was overflowing when I got there and I only had 100cc in there - how sad is that?
I'm paying the price today with a raging flare from all the tubes, probes and other devices. It's weird to experience because the water they put into your bladder is cold and it's cold and burns when you pee.
I have to go lay down for a while but wanted to tell anyone that has to go through this in the future it's not that bad and like I said your mind makes it worse by thinking about it and worrying before hand. I know I'll get through this flare and it was worth it to know that there's nothing majorly wrong with my bladder - just can't hold a whole lot which they said was normal with ic patients.
I had my first heparin/lidocaine instillment right after that yesterday so it's no wonder I'm in pain today. I learned how to cath myself and how to do the instillments at home once I get my supplies and scripts. So the future is looking brighter - just need to continue to be patient, don't I?
Going to rest...
