View Full Version : Hydro-Cysto Follow-up

Once again I am in the minority. I didn't get any relief of the pain with the hydro-cysto. My frequency dropped by about 35-40% which was great, but that only lasted about 10 days. Starting last Wednesday I was back to the old 20 trips a day and now even more at night. I am probably up at least 5-6 times per night now. So, it is back to the old drawing board. I suppose the instillations will be next. I have a follow-up with my uro on June 8th. We'll see.

Hi Steve,
I was exactly like you... the hydro helped my frequency for about 2-3 weeks, and then it was back to 20-25 times a day. I did DMSO instillations, but they only seemed to help while I was doing them (ie, each one lasts for a few days and then I can tell it is time for the next one). Even worse I seem to have more pain now, after the instills, than before.

So, because I cannot keep taking time off every week to go get an instill at the doc's office, I am looking for alternatives too... I haven't tried Elavil yet, and there are other types of instillations that I might be able to do at home. I will ask about these when my uro gets back from his vacation.

Sorry you had to be in this lovely minority too :(

I hope you find something that works....

Hi Steve,

Sorry you didn't get better results. I've had one cysto/hydro/instillation and it didn't help me either. It actually seemed to make my frequency/urgency worse. I'm not sorry that I had the procedure b/c it revealed problems with my bladder that weren't apparent with an in-office cysto.

I hope you find something that works for you.

Take care,
Nicole

I also got relief from frequency for about 3 weeks and then it went back to 30-40 times but I just started the installs and hope they work. Best wishes and good luck,
Kelly
