My Md put me on ditropan and has helped a lot... I wonder if the side effects subside- dry mouth, constipation etc.

How do you deal with not sweating> I work out alot and am really afraid that I will overheat. Can someone tell me what you ahve done about this>
TIA
Renee

:hi:
I take Ditropan XL and I don't notice any of those side effects. I feel that it has helped me alot.

I also workout without any problems.

I also take Ditropan XL and it helps. I still have a little dry mouth but it's not as bad as when I first started taking it.

Thanks Pam. How long would you say you took it before the side effects subsided? Do you also find that you get constipation and difficulty sweating. The latter concerns me because I like to work out hard, and I am concerned that I will get heat stroke or something.

It was probably 3 to 4 weeks before I noticed that my mouth was not as dry. I still have it occasionally but I do drink lots of water. I'm just getting ready to start a walking program so I don't know about the sweating yet. Maybe someone else will post about that.

Glad you guys are having success with Ditropan. all it did with me was make me retain urine.

Good luck!

Hi , just saw your post and was wondering how much ditrapan xl you were taking a day??

I take two a day which is the highest dosage you can take the (15 mg) ........

I have horrible dry mouth , no matter how much water i drink.....and loads of dental problems now because of the medicine.....i have taken it for years ........but this past year and half has been the only time i have taken such high quantiies of it.

I do not retain urine at all with it.........but i do not sweat as much.
just make sure you stay well hydrated and when u start working out and doing alot of activities you will be able to tell more how it will effect you........if your mouth isnt that dry , it probably won't bother you that bad.........

Glad its working for you and that you are still able to work out .......thats a plus.............
take care

I only take the 5 mg time released once a day. It has helped me but I still occasionally have dry mouth even though I drink plenty of water.
