I feel like I'm going crazy! I went into the hopital last night because my chest was in extremely bad pain. They did an ekg and a ct scan and a whole lot of blood work and nothing!!! This is so frustewrating. I have been having bouts of diarria, different pains in my legs, hips, knees, neck, all over my back, headaches, tingling and numbness in my hands, feet, and head someimes!!! Thsiisdriving me nuts. I hurt my back about 8 months ago and since then I've been on a rollacoster ride. I've had the bladder symptoms of some varying degrees since I was little. My periods are going whack! And the doctors treat me like I'm a hypochondriac! This is unexceptable. I can't remember eveything when I go in there so I forget what I want to say. I c an't seem to concentrate very well right now. I call people the wrong names and little stuff sometimes. They try and tell me it's pms! ANd they downplay my IC like it is nothing. No one wants to give me pain meds. It's drastically affecting my life right now. I can't even have my sons hug me because my chest is so sore. It comes and goes as far as severity goes. I desperately need help but I get doors shut on me all the time. It's like my childhood all over again. What a complainer. Why won't they take me seriosly? Well I'm goijng to yet another app. in this seemingless hopeless struggle against the medical professionals to get help. I can't take aleeve or birth control pills so this is complicated. The doctors in the er suspected fibro but said they can't diagnose me they can only determine if I'm in immediate distress and they think I'm not. They said atleast you know it's not cancer and a blood clot to your heart. I left the hospital in so much pain, and discouraged because again no one was able to give me an idea of what's causing the pain or a way to help relieve it. I hate West Virginia's medical community!!!!! It is aweful. Please if you have IC or anything like that don't come here they won't roll out a welcome mat for you! Sorry I am a little upset and don't mean to say that everyone here is like that but I've had very bad experiences with them. Hope everyone is doing better. Isn't IC enough to deal with????? Have a good day. I hope mine will get better. Wish me luck!!! Thanks everyone you are all great. I wish I had a doc as sympathetic, understanding, and sweet as you all are! Take care - Chris

Before you go to your next appt write down your medications, symptoms, when symptoms started etc. Be as organized as you can. This way you will not second quess the names of things.
Dealing with the medical profession is difficult. Hopefully if you organize your thoughts ahead of time you will feel you have accomplished more. Good luck.

If you don't have a primary care physician who is interested in diagnosing you, then you might want to find a different one. Have you had blood work done to determine if you have any problems there?
Also, it's a good idea to write down your symptoms and questions before you go to the doctor --- then you have something to remind you and you won't forget to mention anything. Also, it's good to write down the answers. That way you will have something in writing to refer to if you can't remember what someone told you when you were in a stressful situation.
Sending an encouraging hug,
Donna
Hi, I feel for you, Donna has given you some good ideas, write things down so you will remember what to ask, I do this, and I find it is very helpful to getting some answers to my questions. I know it can be so overwhelming when you are in so much pain. Hope that something can be done for you, IC is bad enough, without all the extra symptoms you are experiencing. Keep us posted, let us know how you are doing. Hope you can get something to relieve your pain, hugs Iris.:hi: :grouphug: :flower:

Atleast I got some progress! I have had tests done and they've checked my thyroid both for overactive and underactive, anemia, elcetrilites, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Right now I'm waiting on the tests to rule out RA, the RH factor, and other things. This is a start. I got a referral to see a rhumatologist and an IC specialist!!! I also got them to give me some muscle relaxers for the horrible pain in my chest. Thank goodness something is finally being done. Thanks for your suggestions. I did write everything down and went over every detail with them! She tried to tell me it was all stress related!!!!!!! I said well I am feeling stressed because I have a horrible pain in my chest and no one can tell me what it's from! I said if I came in here with a bone sticking out of my arm you wouldn't say the pain was comming from something in my head! Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. You wouldn't let someone tell you that either. I have 3 kids to take care of and I can't do that when I'm doubling over with pain. Well atleast there is a change. Hopefully soon I will find out what is going on and I pray it's something I can heal from and get back to normal. Really it's not that much to ask is it? Well I'm trying to be optomistic. Thanks you all. Have a great night. Take care - Chris
