Christine,
If you are in feeling that bad, go the ER. Anytime the pain is that severe and out of character, you might want to get checked out to see if there is anything else going on in addition to the IC like an infection or kidney stones. Speaking from an ER nurse's perspective(at least mine, maybe not the ones in your ER), you have the right to have your pain controlled, and since the patient is the one experiencing the pain, you go with their experience, not your own. Maybe if you got some pain control and got on top of it with something they can give in ER , the stuff you have at home maybe more effective. I will keep you in my prayers, and if you need somewhere to vent, I am here.
Hugs,
Barb
Hi Chris, sounds like you are going through hell right now with your pain, I feel for you, I would go to ER if you are not getting any relief, they may be able to help you out , and give you some relief. Keep us posted as to how you are doing, soft hugs and hang in there, hugs Iris.:hi: :grouphug: :flower:

I would call my doctor first before going to ER. He is probably going to suggest ER, but then you can tell them in ER that Dr. so-and-so sent you there. Or he may have other suggestions. If you can't reach your doctor within a reasonable length of time, then I suggest you go to ER anyhow.
Somehow, it's easier if you talk to your doctor first --- and the ER folks seem to be a little easier to deal with if they know your doctor is aware and can be called.
I hope you gt some relief very soon.
Warm hugs,
Donna

Again I wanna thank all of you for your help. I truly said I was coming on here yesterday asking advise of what to do and that is what I did...and from that I accepted it and did it. Thanks. I still am in the same pain and feel real bad. It is like peeing glass...I dont know if thats cause a catheter was in for over 1/2 hr or the infection..or both! I usually sting like this after cath treatments but this is not goin away every time I pee it is like that..again its prob a mixture of the 2 , the cath in hospital and the infection. I was still wondering if it could be a stone..never had one...but would anything show in urine? Thats all they did...I asked them to do a ultrasound, they said why would we? So I had said incase its something else than a flare. He said no need. (the er dr)/....I will call my uro tomorrow anyway to update on this situation.
Thanks again for everything you all are just GREAT!
