Just found this:

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/editorial_1567.shtm

Notably: # You may request a pat-down inspection in lieu of going through the metal detector or being handwanded. You do not need to disclose why you would like this option.

# If you have a disability, condition, or implant, that you would like to remain private and confidential, ask the Security Officer to please be discreet when assisting you through the screening process.

Now, I know it doesn't happen that way a lot...but those are your rights...

I have had an Interstim for several years and have traveled several times and never had any issues at the airport. I received a card shortly after my surgery that listed what was implanted and I could show it anytime I had issues.

Someone on here, I hope they don't mind me saying this, said she told them she had a pacemaker and they hassled her about being to young to have one. Other people have said other things, but I can't remember or find them right now.
