Constipation from Elmiron?...and now Remeron?

I have been taking Elmiron for 1 week now. I now have major constipation. Did anyone else have this happen? I am also taking Remeron now (2 days ago) and read that can cause constipation too. I have been drinking enough water, eating way more veggies, fruit, bran cereal & prune juice? and it doesn't seem to help. I had to end up taking the laxative sennakot but don't want to rely on this every 3 days like my Dr suggested. Will I have to stop taking these drugs if it doesn't get better? I can't imagine always having to be like this! Thanks:toilet:

I fight constipation with flaxseed oil capsules and magnesium capsules. Stool softeners can be used too but the magnesium is a natural stool softener. I find fiber just isn't enough. You can check with your doctor for ideas and see if these supplements are ok but they work really great for me. If I add more constipating meds, I just up the amount of these that I take.

Thanks Cindi, I have read a lot of good stuff about flaxseed lately, I will have to try these 2 out.
